There are a lot of strategies involved in 14.1 continuous/straight pool. Mostly because if you
make a mistake your opponent can run 40-50 balls on you. Things like that could add a little
pressure to your shot, so make sure you come to the table with some good strategy.

The remaining balls are brought back before the last ball in a rack is pocketed.
Position yourself on the last shot so you have a good chance at breaking the balls
apart, giving you a next shot.

| Oct 2, 2003 | | With this shot you want to use draw. Not follow or center ball. Center ball might stick in the pack. Follow might carom off the pack and scratch. A draw shot will spread the pack and have enough spin to get out of the confusion and back at center table control. The only time you want to use center ball on a break out shot is if you know where the cue ball will be afterwards and that you will have a shot if you get stuck in the pack or if your break ball is high in the rack and draw might miss it. Follow would be used from a break out from the foot rail. Breaking from the back always gives you a possibility to stick in the pack. But if you use force follow you will drive right though it and hopefully get a good leave. |
